Yurts in Sardinia
standard-title What to Expect

What to Expect

We are located within the natural park of the Tacchi D’Ogliastra, surrounded by stunning rock formations and mountains, and yet just 20 minutes drive from some of the most stunning beaches on the island.

Our Yurt Glamping Retreat is somewhere to get away from it all and we encourage our guests to switch off their phones and Wifi as much as possible, to take a technology break and really enjoy the peace and wind down completely.

It is a quiet, tranquil area set apart from the hustle and bustle of the coast and major tourist areas and ideal for people who love nature and outdoor activities. If your idea of heaven is a place with lots of other guests, loud music and an animation team encouraging you to get involved with lots of activities, then this is NOT the place for you! However, if your idea of heaven is a simple, peaceful place where you can enjoy the stars while relaxing in the jacuzzi, then this may just be your idea of paradise.

Glamping is perfect for those people who want to enjoy the experience of camping with a bit of extra added comfort. It’s something different from the normal BnB’s and hotels. At our retreat that means experiencing simple living, surrounded by nature and being away from the towns and crowds.

We are not trying to offer a 5 star hotel experience, rather a place to get back to basics, to unwind and reconnect with nature and the environment. Below you will find more information about the facilities available to our guests.

Each yurt has a comfortable double bed with two pillows and a mosquito net, and we provide one set of bed linen and towels for your stay. There are also two single beds that can be made up for additional guests as required for an additional charge.

The yurt accommodation is offered on a self catering basis only, you will have access to camping style cooking facilities in the communal kitchen or you can eat out if you prefer not to cook.

There is a rail for hanging clothes, and also clothes airer for drying clothes or towels.

Inside there is a small kitchen unit for coffee and hot drink making facilities, cups and glasses, etc.

There is a table and chairs in each yurt and guests can choose to set up the table inside the yurt or take it outside onto the patio area for a more alfresco experience!

Outside each yurt is a table unit with a portable solar shower bag, washing up bowl, tea towel and drainer.

There are shared communal spaces to relax in or guests can wander around the little pathways we have created around the grounds to find a little quiet spot to enjoy the sunshine, meditate or read.

As the water comes from a natural spring, it is not testes and certified and we cannot guarantee it is potable water. Drinking it is at your own risk—and while we have been drinking it for 10 years without incident, we recommend you either boil the water or buy bottled water for drinking.

We have WiFi available free onsite, but it’s range is limited to the vicinity of the main house and on the Zen Roof Garden.

Other things to note

You can personalise your glamping experience with us by asking about the Yoga in Sardinia Experiences and Retreat Services, including Hatha Yoga, Mindfulness, Yoga Nidra, Reiki.

We can also organise Holistic Therapies available to book by appointment including Reiki, Aromatherapy Massage, Indian Head Massage, Trigger Point Massage and Swedish Massage.

Our place is on quite a steep hill and it is very rural and rustic in nature, there are some steep drops and rustic steps around, so please make sure you move around with care and make sure you keep a close eye on your children.

Access to the yurt is by a rustic sloping path, which may be challenging for people with limited mobility, prams, buggies or heavy luggage.

People with pet allergies should be aware that we do allow people to bring pets and we also have two labradors at home and some semi-wild cats roaming freely.

We are endeavoring to make the site as environmentally friendly as possible, we use solar lighting where possible, we use and supply eco-products for cleaning and try to avoid use of plastic packaging and single-use plastics as far as is practical.

What is expected of you? (Site Rules)

Fire Risk Area – No smoking, open fires or open flames allowed outside of the dedicated areas which we will show you at Check-in. If in doubt, don’t light it!

Check-in is available from 3pm to 11 pm daily.

We do not accept any liability for any accidents, injury or illness as a result of using the pool or the hot tub. Please read and follow the guidelines and rules in the Guest Information Folder before use. Misuse that results in damage or requires the emptying of the pool/hot tub will be charged against your security deposit.

We request that our guests do not wear shoes in the Yurts as far as is practical in order to preserve the wooden flooring.

The main outdoor bathroom has an outdoor cold tap, solar heated shower and composting toilet. This is shared with the other guests; please leave it clean. Let us know if the soap or toilet rolls need replacing.

The site has a composting toilet—please follow the instructions for using it and ask us if you are unsure about anything. It is checked daily by us but is not necessarily emptied daily depending on usage. Please let us know if it requires emptying urgently or there are any problems that we might not yet be aware of. If anyone in your party is suffering with a gastric virus or is unwell, please let us know so we can make additional checks and take additional precautions to ensure sanitary conditions for other guests.

Quiet hours are during scheduled class times and after midnight when we ask for any music or loud conversations to be suspended.

The whole site is supplied by a natural spring, which can run low in summer so we kindly ask our guests to follow water conservation tips and not leave any taps running when not in use.

Please wash up your own dishes and cooking equipment and clean up any spillage that may have occurred while you were cooking. We ask our guests to remember and respect that there may be other guests with allergies or specific dietary requirements, so cleaning up thoroughly after using the kitchen equipment, dishes, chopping boards, etc is important.

The Yurt will be clean on your arrival, we do not charge a cleaning fee so we ask that you leave it neat and free of rubbish on your departure; because if a greater than normal cleaning service is required, then a fee will be charged from your security deposit.

Our place is on a steep hill and it is very rural and rustic in nature, there are some steep drops and rustic steps around, so please make sure you move around with care and make sure you keep a close eye on your children.

Children should be fully supervised by a responsible adult at all times for their own safety.

If you are bringing a pet, please bring a dog basket and keep water and food bowls outside of the yurt. Please keep your pets under control at all times and clean up any mess. Please do not let your pets sleep in or on the beds.

If guests are suspected of carrying and/or using illegal drugs of any kind, the authorities will be engaged, and GUESTS WILL BE ASKED TO VACATE THE PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY. No refund will be offered or given in these circumstances.

Please report any breakages or problems to us as soon as possible.

Check out is by 10am on your day of departure. There is a check-out procedure to follow in the guest information folder.

As part of the eco focus we ask our guests to deposit their refuse in a communal area at the end of their stay, where it will be added to the other waste to go to the local recycling centre. The recycling centre has very strict rules about recycling and guests are asked to take particular attention to sorting their waste. Please ask if you are unsure what goes into each bin.

Finally – Please do not leave any electrical appliances switched on when they are not in use, or when you are leaving for the day.

If you have read this far, THANK YOU so much for being a SUPER GUEST!
