A Reiki Treatment typically lasts around 60 minutes with 50 minutes of treatment time and additional time for feedback and discussion before and after the treatment.

The treatment is carried out with the client fully clothed, there are times when the therapist will place hands on different parts of the body and at other times may treat without any physical contact.

Are you feeling stressed, tired, low or blue? Reiki can help to ease your emotional and physical stress and return your sense of well-being and ease. Reiki is a Japanese technique for self improvement which also promotes healing and relaxation.

Reiki treats the whole person including the physical body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many positive effects. Reiki is done by placing the hands on or over the recipient, the hand placement corresponds to some of those points used in Acupuncture but no needles, pressure or massage is used.

The experience of a Reiki treatment is subjective, variable, and can be very subtle. People often experience heat in the practitioner’s hands, but sometimes the practitioner’s hands feel refreshingly cool. Other common experiences are subtle pulsations where the practitioner’s hands are placed or cascading waves of pulsations throughout the body or bright colours behind their closed eyes.

People often comment how comforting they find the experience of a Reiki Treatment. Some people fall into a deep, sleeplike meditative state; hovering in a threshold state of consciousness, simultaneously aware of their surroundings and deeply internalised. Sometimes the experience of Reiki is dramatic or emotional, while for other people the first session in particular may be uneventful. The most common experience is an almost immediate release of stress and a feeling of deep relaxation.

We recommend you drink some water and following whatever your body’s needs, such as resting if you feel tired. Although people typically leave a Reiki session feeling refreshed and relaxed, they sometimes report feeling more tired in the evening than usual. This is not viewed as an adverse reaction, but rather as the body’s natural healing response.
